Personality:

4: What are they bad at?

Skylar - Explaining her emotions. She knows how she feels, she just has a hard time putting it into words.

Cooper - Spacing out/ignoring people. If he’s reading a book, better leave him be cause he won’t hear you. Hell he might even intentionally ignore you.

Liz - Apologizing. This girl does not know how to apologize, because she never had to unless she was forced to by someone. Now that she’s older and more mature she knows she’s gonna have to apologize for something at some point. It just comes out so awkward.

5: What kind of things do they dislike/hate?

Skylar - People who interrupt her, people who put others in danger, looking over her shoulder when she’s on her phone. And anyone who is an abusive asshole.

Cooper - People who abandon their kids and animals. Very strict people and people who manipulate.

Liz - People who emotionally abuse/ manipulate their kids. Higher ups in the military that sit behind a desk, people who go through her things without asking and authority.

7: What are their goals and motivations?

Skylar - Be a good mom, have a happy and healthy marriage and have a happy life. Also to travel.

Cooper - To be a good brother and raise his sister to be a kind and caring woman. To travel and just be an all around good person.

Liz - To be a better parent than her was. Also to have a life that leaves her feeling fulfilled when she’s older.

9: What are they most afraid of?

Skylar - Losing Tachanka. She knows it’ll happen eventually, he is 26 years older than her after all. It’s the thought that he could die due to work and that scares the shit out of her.

Cooper - Not being a good brother. Finding out about his sister and that he has full custody of her surprised him to say the least. But with work duties and all that, he’s afraid he won’t be there for her as much as she needs him to be. Military life takes him away quite a lot, and once he joined Rainbow he had more leeway to go back home.

Liz - Ending up alone. She’s afraid she’ll push people away or do something that’ll make them not want to be around her. She also has a ton of baggage and she’s worried maybe it’s a bit too much for some people to handle. She’s fine with being alone, but to be completely alone with no one to help her when needed scares her.

Relationships:

2: What’s their friend group like? What role do they play in it?

Skylar - Her friends group is filled with people from a bunch of nationalities, which makes the group a ton of fun. And she gets to learn about the other countries, which she loves. Her role would be the floater.

Cooper - His friends group is a mix of SAS dudes and reckless school buddies. Ever since his sister came into the picture he become less reckless and more mature. I would say he is also a floater as well.

Liz - Her friends group is filled with a bunch of military men, which makes the group stressful but fun cause she likes to tease them. After the war ends she gets into contact with her high school friends and even though they live miles away it’s still fun for her to video chat with them. Her role is clearly the daredevil.

4: Who do they look up to? Who do they trust?

Skylar - She looks up to her parents and older sisters’. And she trusts Tachanka, Ash, Thermite, Glaz, and Kapkan the most.

Cooper - He looked up to his mom until she died, I guess he still does. As for who he trusts, he trusts Kapkan, Sledge, Thatcher and Ash. (I haven’t figured out his relationships with a lot of the other operators lol)

Liz - She doesn’t look up to anyone tbh, but she does trust Ghost, Price, Logan, Dunn, Roach and Nikolai.

5: Who do they hate? Do they have any enemies?

Skylar - NITEHAV as a whole (besides Aruni), Finka, Henry and low-key Harry. Her enemy is definitely Henry. For all the things he did to her, her hatred for him runs deep. Also the White Masks.

Cooper - He hates his dad for leaving him and his mom, and then to have a family with someone else. He loves his sister with all his heart, but that hurt. As for enemies he doesn’t have any, well I guess the White Masks are.

Liz - Elias, Shepherd, Yuri, and Makarov. Her enemies are all that I’ve listed.

Fun Facts:

4: Do they collect anything?

Skylar - Pins. She thinks they’re cute and she likes to put them on denim jackets or her bag.

Cooper - Vinyls. He started his collection with his mom and kept it going after she died. Now he has his sister to help.

Liz - Knives. Yup, she collects knives. Of course she has them locked up so the kids can’t get them, but she does have a nice collection.

5: What position do they sleep in?

Skylar - On her side.

Cooper - Either stomach or back.

Liz - Either on her side or back.

7: What languages do they speak?

Skylar - English, Russian, French, Spanish and a tiny bit of German and Polish.

Cooper - English, Gaelic and some Spanish.

Liz - Just English and a little bit of Spanish she learned in school and Russian from Price and Nikolai.

14: Do they believe in aliens? Ghosts? Reincarnation or something else?

Skylar - She believes in aliens and ghosts.

Cooper - He kinda believes in reincarnation, like he likes the thought of it, to die and then be reborn into something else.

Liz - She believes in aliens, there’s no way we’re the only life form in the universe.

Idk if you've answered something like this before, so sorry if you have but do you ever get worried that as a mental health professional one of your clients or colleagues might find your Tumblr and read all your smutty writing? I'm officially becoming a licensed therapist (going to work with LGBTQ+ youth!) this year and I'm honestly terrified of someone finding my fics and knowing it's me.

First off, congrats on becoming a licensed therapist! There’s so much hard work that goes into becoming licensed, and maintaining that licensure, and you deserve all the recognition for entering this field and being passionate about helping others!

I will say that as far as my clients go, I’ve so far been working with verrrry impoverished city populations who are lucky to even keep a roof over their head or have a working phone on them, let alone have enough technology to be online or understand tumblr lol. However, it’s definitely something I’ve contemplated and that I had to think about when first making my accounts. I also have a second clinical masters degree in Human Sexuality Education, so I have that as a cushion to be like ummmm do you see what I studied? Are you really surprised? lol

I think it’s a very person-by-person decision about how private you make your online profiles, but for me, I decided that there’s literally nothing to be ashamed about with writing smut. If my clients did find my work and brought it up, we could discuss any reactions they might’ve had about it and process where those reactions come from. Like with you wanting to work with LGBTQ+ youth (which kudos by the way, the world needs more professionals like you!) if they did happen upon your stuff, well 1. they’re technically not to be consuming this content if they’re under 18 (which lets be real, isn’t a realistic standard but still something you could say, that your stuff is advertised for adult consumers). But also, it could honestly start a great conversation regarding sexuality and our internal desires, especially how fictional fantasy is NOT the same as reality, and that one can fantasize about topics that they don’t have to condone in reality (esp if your fanfic content is more ‘taboo’). It can also be a GREAT conversation on gender expectations, and how women are held to such double standards when we acknowledge that we even have sexual fantasies, let alone create or consume erotic content. I could go on and on about this, but I think you get my drift that if a client did find your profiles, it’s all about how you process their reaction and turn the conversation. Make it about the general topics of erotica/fantasies/sexuality/etc and take the focus off YOU creating it. Make it a bigger conversation. It could even open them up to feeling more comfortable talking to you about their own sexual-related topics (I know that my clients and coworkers tbh who learned of my masters in human sexuality were muuuch more likely to then voice their own questions and concerns in that arena, bc I became more of a safe, nonjudgmental space).

Now, as far as coworkers, I used to hide my love of fanfiction, but the last few years I haven’t. My team at work knows I read and write fanfiction. If somone new starts at my job and we do the whole “so what are your hobbies” convo, I include reading and writing. If they ask me what I read or write, I say fanfiction, and take in their reaction. If they’re a jerk about it, I know they’re not someone I want to be around and our relationship is gonna be verrry professional and not buddy buddy. Also, in our field, a mental health professional being a dick about something like that??? Talk about a career red flag, my god.

My first supervisor at my current job was actually into fandoms himself, and I only found out through being honest regarding my own hobbies. We didn’t go into details since he was in a higher level position, but once he left my job for another company, we traded social media profiles and he asked for my masterlist, something that never would’ve happened if I’d hid my love of fanfic. And one of the nurses I work with (a woman in her 50s) even asked to read one of my stories a couple of months ago, once I explained to her what fanfiction was, and so I sent her one of my Hopper oneshots since we both watch Stranger Things. Now I did give her the disclaimer that she asked for this content and so to prepare herself. And I know her well enough at this point that we don’t judge each other and are super open about a lot of things sex-related already, so I wasn’t worried about her freaking out. Her response the next time I saw her, after she read it, was, “Damn, you’re a dirty bitch….I loved it!” XD

Now I’m not saying you have to share your content with coworkers (and definitely don’t ever actively share it with clients, as I’m sure you know), but I don’t think anyone should feel that they *have* to hide it, either, or be worried if someone else finds it on their own. Any coworker who would try to belittle me or make fun of me for that? Oh hell no. We’re all adults here, and the time for making fun of someone for their hobbies is long past in my book. I have no time for it. If you show that you’re not embarrassed by something and refuse to let someone else make you feel/act embarrassed, then people who would be jerks will only make themselves look dumb. But I’m also very lucky to work in a super open-minded environment and none of my coworkers who know have ever given me much crap over it.

All that to say, that’s MY personal situation, and my own view on it is that I’m all for being open about my love of smutty fanfic, because you never know when you’ll find someone else who is also into it. And regarding clients, you keep it professional and turn it into a bigger conversation, or if the client reacts super harshly, process where their feelings of transference are coming from. At the end of the day, they were the ones searching for that content in order to happen upon your profile sooooo *shrugs* However, if the thought of that is too worrisome or anxiety-inducing then, by all means, don’t feel bad about having an anonymous profile that gives out no personal info about who you are. It’s a choice YOU have to make for yourself.

For me, I’m letting my smutty fanfic flag fly proudly, and people can accept it or move on along. Hope that helps!

KCON LA 2019 Recap

Wow what an insane three days. My expectations were pretty low from KCON NY but I was really impressed by some of the events they had at the convention.

I'm just gonna use everyone's real names in this because it's too hard to remember everyone's handles.

Thursday, August 15th

After work, I went home, made dinner, packed up, and then went straight to the airport. The flight from San Jose to Burbank is literally an hour gate to gate (45 minutes of flight time lol) so it was a super short flight. The only pressing thing was that some of my discord buddies were doing karaoke in ktown so I really didn't want to miss out on that. My mvp sister came to the airport to pick up all my stuff and I ubered straight to the karaoke place to see everyone (I forgot to take pictures though :(). Jordan started me off with Rough and after they sang a ton of other girl group songs, I did Red Flavor and Energetic. We didn't want to go too hard before the convention even started so we all decided to meet at the convention before noon. The izone fanclub meeting was at noon and the fromis_9 fanclub meeting was at three, so I definitely wanted to go to both (all six moderators for the two fanclub meets are in the group I went with).

Friday, August 16th

I woke up at like 9 and I went with Cyn to go get Trieu Chau noodles, which tasted even better than I remember.

Everyone wanted to get lunch in between the fanclub meetings but I don't trust eating in big groups and I'm pretty good at not eating for long periods of time in case anything happens.

I got to the convention at around noon, but it took me around half an hour to check-in because my dumb ass was so lost. I'm super glad the lady that gave me my wristband let me tighten it myself just so I could take it off freely between the three days. I also went to the merchandise pick-up and got my two fromis_9 slogans and a loona slogan. I ran over to the izone fanclub meeting right after.

There were a ton wizones there and they played three rounds of games through kahoot guessing these random ass facts I don't even think a hardcore wizone would know. We then did the Violetta and La Via En Rose fanchants and it ended there. After that I walked out with Nick and Danny and we went to the mob so they could try buying their izone and itzy hi-touches.

So the mob in LA was batshit insane and the hi-touches were marked up SOOO much higher than I ever would have guessed. An A1 pack is $170 and it comes with one hi-touch, two audiences, and a red carpet pass (ignore the red carpet pass I don't think anyone cares about that). Stray Kids/Ateez hi-touches were easily going for $300, and I heard someone got really desperate and dropped $700 for her Ateez hi-touch. Out of the nine hi-touches that happened (should have been ten but rip Chung Ha) my feel for the prices went something along the lines of (+ their average price from what I saw)

Yeah people are insane. And with the audiences I'm pretty sure you have a solid 7/9 chance to make a huge profit. If you posted in the Facebook group and did the "dm me your best offer" I'm pretty sure you'd be able to sell your Stray Kids hi-touch for $600+. People were even buying Stray kids audiences for $100 like are you serious...

The supply and demand was also super polarized. We waited for almost an hour and not even a single person had an itzy/izone hi-touch for sale, yet there were probably at least 10 people willing to drop a nontrivial amount of money for anyone that came up. If you're willing to pay this much money to touch a few groups, diamond doesn't sound that bad anymore (all-access hi-touch, plat only gets 2).

I stood around and talked until like 2:30 until making my way to the fromis_9 fanclub meet. I think loona was at star square at the time so the turn out was even smaller than New York imo.

We played two kahoot games and I actually won the guess the song after only hearing one second of it. There were nine questions and I legitimately knew seven of them, but they used the same questions in New York so I knew the last two were Youth (Hayoung's cover)/From Now (Jiwon's and Nakyung's OST song). That won me a medium size KCON LA 2019 shirt, but that was just a consolation prize. fromis_9 hadn't even left Korea yet so there's no way we could get signed merch. We then did the Love Bomb/Fun/Love Rum Pum Pum fanchants. I didn't go that hard on Love Bomb, but MVP Danny helped me hold my phone so I went full blast on Fun and Love RumPumPum. Ngl the Love RumPumPum fanchant was literally impossible unless you already knew it because the timings are so strange and no one can actually read romanized Korean fast enough (the subs didn't have the hangul). I'm kinda the fanchant guy so I really wanted to drop all that Korean practice at this opportunity.

After the fanclub meet, I finally got a chance to walk around the convention. This was my first KCON LA, but I heard in previous rooms they only got half the expo hall but this year they got the whole thing. Everything was spaced out pretty well and there was a ton more to do than in NY.

I walked around for a bit, took some pictures, and then sat on a bench to hang out with Danny for like an hour since all the others went to go line up for KCON Rookies (there had to have been at least 1.5k people waiting).

All memes aside, it's nice to actually get to know some of the back stories behind some other friends. Danny and I realized we both ulted GFriend and fromis_9 and how willing we are to just throw money at both groups lol. I gave the extra fromis_9 slogan towel I ordered to my new friend and he left for Rookies since he was plat and had priority entrance. I made one more lap around the convention, said hi to an old friend, and then called an Uber to get dinner with my sister and two college friends.

It was a pretty fancy Japanese dinner that was definitely not worth it, but we got Salt and Straw after and that was awesome.

We walked back to the apartment of two other people that joined us, and I left for Dan Sung Sa to meet up with the rest of the group after Rookies. I finally got to see my buddy Alex (he got diamond so he was busy milking the perks the whole day), ate some good food, and I drank a bit more than I should have.

After dinner #2, I ubered back to Cyn's and planned to wake up fairly early to go to LAX.

Saturday August 17th

fromis_9 took off on their flight from Incheon at around 8pm our time, so they would be landing at around 10am PDT. The izone artist engagement happened to be at around the same time (11am, a ton of people in the group at hard core wizones), so only a few of us decided to go to LAX. I took an Uber to the airbnb and then we all went to LAX together. We also heard Stray Kids, Mamamoo, and Verivery were on the same flight, so we'd coincidentally get to see a ton of idols. At the airport, I met some fans from other discord servers and we just sat around waiting for them to come out of the special exit.

A lot of the group went on Thursday to greet loona/izone at the airport, but a ton of them didn't even get to see them because they were waiting at the wrong exit. I kinda piggy-backed off their experience and made sure I was sitting at the right one.

After standing around for quite a bit, everyone formed two huge lines waiting to greet them. I wanted to stick out my hand for them to touch, hold up my Jiheon sign, and try recording it at the same time, but I only have two hands. I ended up placing my phone in front of the Jiheon sign and keeping my right hand free. They walked out super fast, but Jiheon pointed at me and laughed at my sign. It really only lasted 10 seconds, and I felt pretty mission-accomplished knowing Jiheon saw my sign at least once. Jiwon lead the line and I keep forgetting how smol she is. (I’ll post the video I got eventually).

The next artist that came out was Stray Kids, and they were super nice and waved at us. All hell broke loose When Mamamoo came out like I'm genuinely surprised the fans there were that crazy. First of all, they are SOOOOOOOOOOO short. I've seen pictures of Mamamoo standing next to GFriend and while they all tease Eunha for being 5'4", she's still taller then Solar/Moonbyul/Hwasa. The fans chased after the van and started screaming Mamamoo for a few minutes before dispersing. At this point, most people left, but out of no where, N.Flying also exited the airport. Ngl, I thought it was gonna be Verivery but when I only saw four members I made the connection. I was looking at the footage I recorded of fromis_9 that I couldn't record N.Flying coming out fast enough. There was nothing left to do so my group just ubered back to the LA Convention Center. Tbh at this point, this trip was already better than all of KCON NY minus what happened at Washington Square Park because I already got to see fromis_9 in person. They made 0 appearances at the NY convention and the day I went to the airport, they weren't even flying out so at this point, the trip was already worth it.

It was around 12:30pm when we got to the convention, and I was with all three fromis_9 fanclub moderators, so they got to go through the staff entrance while I wanted in the pleb line. Once I made it into the convention center, I rushed over to the KCON beauty station where loona was having a meet and greet (started at 12:40pm). There were SO many people and even on my tiptoes I could only catch the top half of the screen, though if I held my phone up I could record what was happening.

A few people moved out of the way and I could kinda see Haseul's and Choerry's faces but there were so many orbits. I couldn't really hear what they were saying, but every time Chuu said something, the orbits there were roaring (she is undisputedly the most popular member among the crowd). They ended up just talking about some beauty tips and how they do their makeup, so I kinda knew what to expect when fromis_9 were coming tomorrow.

The meet and greet ended on time around 1:10pm, and at this point, I was starving since I hadn't eaten the whole day. We were gonna go to the food trucks to get food but we got the inside scoop that izone was going to be making an appearance at the Olive Young booth. A huge wall of people were already forming, but I decided to wait on the left wing where there were still cameras but much fewer people. I ended up recording the entire segment. We were trying to not be obnoxious yelling their names when they were doing something, but the entire crowd would call a member in unison until they did a little dance for us. Chaeyeon really won my heart with her fan service and Yujin gave us a ton of attention too. The cameraman there actually told us to cheer for them louder so he could record us LOL.

It was around 2pm now, so we waited around for more people to gather and we all headed to the food trucks. The street food they had was obviously overpriced but pretty good compared to the normal food they'd have in the convention center.

There was nothing interesting left on the schedule for me, so I just walked around the convention center looking for something to do. I heard some screaming around the KCON stage, so I sprinted over and caught N.Flying's appearance. They were presenting the winner of some Cover Star K award, but the more interesting part is that they sang a snippet of Rooftop for us.

Kyla tweeted that she'd be at the convention center, so a group of us walked around to places we thought she'd be at, but we didn't end up finding her. I walked back into the convention center and saw another mob at the Star Square, and it turns out N.Flying was reading off horoscopes and taking pictures with the fans that won their meet and greet.

After that, I stood with James in the middle of the convention, and literally just so happened to bump into a group of maybe 30 people trying to meet up with Kyla (they nominated one person to DM Kyla on twitter). I followed this group around and we ended up moving to three different places until we found a spot that was fairly empty. I had a feeling Kyla was coming soon, and I made sure James and I were standing closest to the entrance. Kyla appeared with some other friends and when we formed a line get a picture with her, James and I were in front lol (I went second). She recorded a video message to a fan's friend that couldn't be there, and I told her she was amazing and such an inspirational figure in the kpop community. I got a hug and a picture with her.

It was like 5pm now, so I broke off from everyone and sat at a table to drink some water, recharge, and plan out my schedule for the rest of the day and for tomorrow. At around 6pm, I walked over to my friend's hotel a block away from the Staples Center, and we sat around just hanging out before the concert. Nick showed me his izone lightsticks (yes multiple, apparently wizones customize a lightstick for each member) and Brian showed me his entire kpop photocard set (there were so many holy shit). Since we were all seated tonight, we just left the hotel at around 7:15pm and got in around 7:30pm for the preshow. The free ticket I got was part of a set of three, so the two people I was sitting with were also friends of the person I knew.

The view I got was also amazing, I'm surprised at how good P2 was (I would have taken this over P1 because P1 is kinda lower than I'd like). I'm not really invested into AB6IX, Ateez, or SF9, but when Loona came out I lost my shit oh my god they were amazing. AND I FINALLY GOT TO SEE LOVE PAINT LIVE. One of my favorite songs of all time performed by OT5. I was kinda sad Nu'est did real love true love instead of look because look is my #2 song by them, but I guess they couldn't repeat the set list from NY.

After the concert, we split up into Ubers and went to BCD, which had a ridiculous wait because we were definitely not the only ones going after the concert. Everyone was starving and tired, but I'm pretty sure izone and loona knocked us all off our feet.

We planned to line up for P1 GA at around 8am and all parted ways. I was already super tired at this point, but Saturday was supposed to be the easy day compared to Sunday when fromis_9 would be appearing

Saturday August 17th

I got up around 7:30am and ubered back to the convention center, though I was late as hell and had sprint to join my friends standing in line. Actually I was so late that I had to make up some excuse of going to the bathroom and returning to my "spot in line". I got 596, but my friends that did GA yesterday said they had 400 and still got an amazing view.

I wasn't too worried about it since I wasn't going to camp out overnight and I had buddies that knew what they were doing. It was around 9:45am, so David gave me his convention pass so I could get staff entry into the convention (he was going back to his airbnb to grab some stuff).

We had enough passes to go around so I think five of us entered the convention early and went to the KCON message board to write some nice things. I wrote something super similar to what I did in NY, and then wrote something for GFriend somewhere else.

While I was finishing up my message for GFriend, I saw people sprinting into the convention center and Jordan started screaming my name to come over. I followed my instinct and sprinted towards him, and we got front row seats at the KCON beauty station. There were around 20 other people sprinting too, and I was actually pushed to the side by two girls that got there first. I had no idea people would come three and a half hours for fromis_9, but I think it's because people figured out how to do it with Loona. I befriended the two girls next to me since we'd be stuck together for a while, and I realized they were angels.

I even got to push down other people's stuff so I could make room for Danny and Alex to sit front row with my group since they were plat/dia but didn't get early convention access. At around 11:30am, I left with Stephen to go get food, and I really got to know his back story too. It was mainly just sitting around until 1:30pm when fromis_9 would make their appearance. During our wait, we all signed Alex's sign which he was going to try and hand off to a member during the concert.

Thank you so much for coming to KCON LA 2019. Starting from last year until now, listening to fromis_9′s songs or watching your videos have given me a lot of strength. That motivated me to teach myself a new language and inspired me to always be a better person than I was yesterday. I’ll always cheer you on and love you. Shall we be together until the very end? Fighting!

1:30pm eventually came around and fromis_9 made their appearance. I recorded the entire segment here, front row and dead center :). I was shaking before they came out, but if I hadn't seen them as close as I did in Washington Square Park, I think I would have been shaking even more. Saerom walked out and waved at me, Jiheon walked out, saw my sign, gave me the same reaction as she did at the airport (lol), and I was able to get waves from all the other members (Nakyung, Jiwon, Jisun, Gyuri, and Chaeyoung for sure). Throughout their entire appearance, we were calling them by their nicknames during their downtime, flashing hearts at them, smiling, and these nine angels did the same back to us. At the end of the performance, I jumped out of my seat seeing if I could hi-five them, but Nakyung waved at me, Saerom waved at me, I asked Hayoung if she remembered me from New York (she did!), and told Gyuri she was beautiful for Ice (and for me because she's gorgeous). Honestly, the convention could have ended there, but we still had a concert to go afterwards. It was around 2pm and people wanted to go get food, but we heard Mamamoo was going to make an appearance at 2:50pm so we stood around waiting for 50 minutes. They showed up, I once again confirmed they were super short and everyone left to go get something to eat. I already ate earlier and had no plans of eating for the concert, so I actually broke off from the group to go to a panel.

I was definitely chasing idols this weekend but there were some panels I was interested in. The one I wanted to go to at 3:30pm was the "how to study/work in Korea", so I recharged by myself for around 30 minutes and went there.

I asked the presenter a ton of questions (she was super nice), and then left a bit early to join a few others at the Verivery fanclub meeting (we had nothing else to do).

I tried meeting up with the guy which I reserved a banner from, but I couldn't find him around the convention anywhere. It was around 5pm, so I left the convention once and for all and went back to my friend's hotel to wait until the GA concert queue up at 6pm. At this point, I was tired as hell and somewhat scared my phone battery was gonna die because I was at 44% (I used 20% to record the 25 min fromis_9 appearance). Luckily he had a charger so I got up to 55%. We just chatted about how excited for the concert we were and where we were gonna sprint to.

At 5:50pm, we left to the GA entrance and tried cutting in line, but got caught because some girl snitched on us lol. The first security guard told us "we should go to the right place in line" but just left, but then his supervisor was the actual person that kicked us out. We had to go through security and get three additional wristbands before we could actually start sprinting toward the stage. The 10/10 spot we wanted was taken, but I was really happy with the final spot we got because any closer and I wouldn't be able to see over the stage.

The concert was absolutely amazing. I was familiar with every group that was performing so there was almost no song where I wasn't super hype. Miroh lived up to the hype and I think the entire stadium was shaking and yelled stray kids together. I did the entire Fun! and Love RumPumPum fanchants so loud people in the pit pushed my forward to the barricade and the guy next to me offered to hold my camera so I could finish off Love Bomb (my recording). Seventeen was also insane, we got Good To Me (I don't think non carats knew the song that well but I lost my shit because I loved it way more than Home), Adore U, Clap, and the infamous Aju Nice (which was insane). I think the third encore was a little unnecessary, but we were all losing our shit because it was so fun.

During the encore stage, I was waving my Jiheon sign, and Chaeyoung walked over and saw it. She had to tap Megan for a solid 5 seconds before she also noticed but I was already super content because they had seen my signs three times (LAX, at beauty, and at the concert). Once we gathered together, we all jumped on Alex because Jiheon had taken the sign we all wrote messages on and then took a group picture.

We were all super shook outside, and I was kinda ready for my KCON experience to end here so even if they wanted to go out to eat, I was ready to Uber back to Cyn's and call it a night. I said my final good-byes to everyone (everyone got a super tight hug) and headed back.

I can’t believe I got to see fromis_9 twice in a year. I’ve been a pretty big fan of kpop since 2015, but I’ve never materialized this hobby until fromis_9 summoned me to KCON NY a month ago, and there was no way I wasn’t going to LA to see them again. I already had some regrets not going to LA last year and seeing how much fun they had in their behind the scenes videos, so I wanted a story of my own. So I guess my identity as a fan is really as a fromis_9/GFriend ult now, but I still refuse to pick a bias (I was probably asked like thirty times who my fromis_9/GFriend biases were this weekend...). They really are angels, and while it wasn’t perfect (no artist engagement, messed up some recording etc.), I’m still so happy I got to meet them.

On a side note, loona is amazing. They were so sweet in person, their performances were incredible, and that’s really a reminder that I need to go through the rest of their pre-debut tracks I haven’t listened to yet.

I also did some math and I’m pretty sure if you like the groups on both days, platinum is definitely worth it (diamond if your thing is touching all the artists, but it’s hard to get your full money’s worth giving how fast everything goes and how bad KCON is at announcing everything).

Platinum was 1121.48, and if the regular GA is 462.98, the convention ticket is 36, KCON rookies is 45, the random swag they give you is 50, and the hi-touches are around 141.50 on average (use the 9 numbers I quoted above with Chung Ha’s being $50), then that only leaves 294.50 on the cost of the ticket. That buys you a dedicated pit so you don’t have to camp out overnight, getting to cut all the AE/entrance lines, and getting into the convention early (probably more worth it for NY since it’s two days and stuff actually happens Saturday, getting in Friday for LA doesn’t matter much, but then you could just have the staff pass). To be honest, the peace of mind that buys already sounds worth it to me, so if the line up is good enough, I’d definitely go for plat if I could get my hands on it.

We also realized we had been spelling 플로버 and 프로버 the entire time (confused the spelling with 프로미 which doesn’t have the extra ㄹ). I realized what I wrote for fromis_9 in NY has a typo and I made the same typo in LA. I fixed it on the sign before Alex handed it off, but I take that as a humble reminder that I’m still a foreigner and need to study a lot harder. :’) All kpop memes aside, some people are here just to chase after idols, but in addition to being a fan, I’ve been trying to embrace a new culture and language along the way. I’m still working really hard on vocabulary right now, and I still have every intention to pass TOPIK 5 by next year.

I’m also so glad I went to KCON LA with a group. Going alone would have been a terrible idea because you’d have no inside scoop on what’s going on, no one to switch off spots with, and no one to hang out with during all the down time. I’m really thankful to how much the discord group helped me out this weekend. I’m sure we’ll meet again.

damn alright lol uuuh let’s see where to begin

- THE BOY IS A TODOROKI

-dabi has a lot of self-destructive habits; smoking, drinking, promiscuous behavior, etc. all formed out of a persistent need to spite endeavor…i mean it’s not canon that dabi smokes but from what ive seen in fanart and fic (including my own) we’ve all pretty much decided that dabi chain smokes and i wont be surprised if we see a panel in the manga of him casually lighting one up with twice and giran soon

i mean he’s already the physical representation of smoker’s lungs so he might as well lol

-despite his appearance, dabi has a really nice singing voice, it’s kinda rough and soulful, and when he was living at home he used to sing shouto to sleep. I like to think he does that now in the VA. It’s something not a lot of people know about him, and him singing to you is a sign of trust and affection. i have this hc that shigaraki has a lot of nightmares so he doesnt sleep well, but on those nights where he’s feeling bad, dabi sings to him and it puts him out like a light.

-dabi often goes into protective big brother mode with toga, he cant help but take care of the little psycho lol like sometimes he’ll steal food for her and stuff

-who do you think introduced shouto to cold soba, hm?

-a lot of people think dabi is homeless; I can’t say I agree tbh I saw this movie pretty recently about people living in a technically condemned building and it was full of really shady people who kinda fell off the grid sidenote: the movie was horrible and disgusting but the idea was interesting and I picture dabi living in a ratty old apartment like that, with bare essentials and around people who wont ask questions cause they’ve also got things to hide

-I think his burns are self-inflicted; the result of relentless determination to master using blue flames and I think Dabi would rather die than use anything less

- i do, however, think he burned himself while he was still at home. I dont believe that shouto was the first to be put through endeavor’s “training” but I think enji gave up on dabi pretty early on, once shouto’s ice/fire abilities manifested, and dabi, desperate to prove him wrong, pushed himself to be better, until the inevitable happened. And if Fuyumi hadn’t found him, smoldering, foaming at the mouth, screaming in pain, that dabi probably would’ve died from his injuries.

- Dabi officially ran away from the hospital after being isolated in a burn room for months, with only one visit from Endeavor. The sole purpose of that visit being to tell Dabi to his face that he was nothing but a failed prototype.

-dabi can fall asleep literally anywhere

-how many edgy coats does dabi have? the world may never know

-dabi is a pretty sly pickpocket; he kinda had to learn to get money quick since finding a regular job might’ve been kinda hard

-when he’s feeling talkative, dabi actually makes for a great conversationalist and drinking buddy; i imagine that’s why him and twice get along so well

- i also like to think that shigaraki occasionally enjoys his company, when dabi isn’t trying to pick a fight with him or insult him

-when he left home, he destroyed all record of himself; dabi made sure he fell completely off the grid

-if you follow me, i assume you’ve read or are at least aware of the shigadabi series i wrote where shiggy is cold and falls asleep on dabi but if ya havent: i like to think that because of his quirk, dabi’s natural body temperature is a lot higher than that of a normal person, which would normally be concerning but in a superhuman society, im sure an elevated body temp that doesnt fry your brain is probably the least concerning thing you’d see in an emergency room but anyways yeah because of this dabi has become the designated space heater and he hates it so much

- dabi has a really high pain tolerance. living with a large portion of his body burned and scarred could not have been a cake walk for anyone, quirk or no quirk, and he’s since learned to live with that constant pain

- dabi may look like a homeless bump but he actually takes surprisingly good care of himself. again, because of the degree of his burns, dabi is particularly susceptible to infection and illness so he has no choice but to be conscious of his hygiene and health.

-after he ran away, dabi had to give himself a crash course in self-medicating and first aid. Due to burn scar contractures, dabi was often in extreme pain and very prone to infection, so he had to learn how to care for his wounds, how to bring himself relief, what types of aid where most effective, which medications had which effects,how quickly they kicked in, and most importantly, where to get them.

-in that same vein, dabi has become very knowledgeable on antibiotics and basic first aid; he also knows how to properly stitch a wound and can do it very quickly so he’s the makeshift medic for the VA

-being a combatant, dabi’s staples get damaged pretty often so he changes them out fairly often and it is absolute agony to remove them one by one, especially the ones under his eyes, so dabi literally has to get himself just drunk enough to take the edge off but still be able to swap them out without hurting himself; this is another reason i think dabi has a high pain tolerance

-he carries an emergency suture kit in that little leather fanny pack thing; sometimes they get damaged mid battle and dabi has to stitch himself up in the moment until he can replace the staple that came out

-changing gears a little, personally, i think dabi is a lot like shouto in that he’s funny, especially when he doesnt mean to be funny. dabi has that same aloof personality that shouto has because they’re brothers and he strikes me as the type to have a very dry sense of humor. that scene in chapter 160 where dabi says he gets car sick while completely blank-faced, that’s what i mean lol you cant tell me shouto wouldnt act the exact same way if he were in that situation

-dabi hates the rain; it makes his joints ache and his burns feel more tender and it’s awful

-dabi likes spicy foods spicy food for spicy boi

-dabi has A Lot of piercings, and he’s done most of them himself

-since he dropped out of school, dabi isn’t academically brilliant, but he’s a pretty fast learner and is very street savvy. And don’t mistake this for me thinking he’s dumb, because he’s not. Dabi’s a pretty intelligent guy, he just didnt have the opportunity to learn a lot of stuff. I was talking about this with a friend on twitter a while back, but the gist of that convo was that shigaraki is highly intelligent, especially academically and AFO encouraged him to read a lot and learn about a variety of subjects, because knowledge is power and blah blah blah

so fast forward to the current time, shigaraki often reads the paper and random books (the book in question at the time of the convo was animal farm) and dabi likes to ask him about what he’s reading and is genuinely interested in shiggy’s literary criticisms, ideas, etc. and he learns a lot

okie dokes, i think i’m gonna keep a log of mental well being here, as sort of like an online diary ;D you can read it if you feel like, or not, doesn’t matter to me! i’ll probably tag as feel free to read! posts like these will be under a readmore

and i won’t include names or initials or anything unless i find it totally necessary!

yesterday was my second ex’s birthday (counting ex’s back to the beginning of the summer) and i think i handled it pretty well though there were definitely thoughts of things like “i better do this, that, and the third harmful behavior” i.e. drinking/smoking (because robert is probably getting drunk/high too and since i couldn’t break up with him, i can at least get drunker/higher than him), or sex (since he broke up with me because of how much sex i had before we started dating)

which is totally stupid in retrospect, because i shouldn’t allow myself to be controlled by other people like that - if i get drunk/high, it should be of my own volition; if i have sex, it’s cause i wanted to have sex.

i had a friend over and we got drunk and hella high. he left and i messaged this guy on okc and we almooost met up for a hookup (though, i gotta say he made a rape joke? i honestly have difficulty interpreting some of his messages, “haha”s can really change things up if they’re sarcastic or not) but then i fell asleep LOL at twelve or one like a baby, and woke up around 3 to a message from this one guy i really like!!!

beginning of many tangents (can skip to the end of it, at “TO SUM:” because it’s a lot of rambling) :

now here’s the thing that i can’t decide for myself. do i actually like this person or am i rebounding? i’ve had a couple of chances now to rebound. i rebounded with this one guy but we stopped dating because we didn’t really know each other much at all, and this one guy i rejected because i wasn’t really attracted to him, and i started liking this one guy but i didn’t think he was into me - and really that’s the key. i don’t know whether or not i like this person i’m talking to now or if i’m just confusing that with attraction. because i don’t know them. i like the air they give off - i’m attracted to how they talk, and their overall demeanor, and i’ve only hung out with him literally once yet i get so upset when he doesn’t give me attention/send me snaps/ask to meet up (but he’s been so busy with his family, and he just came out of the hospital yesterday, and he has messaged me almost everyday since we met in person and ohmygod this was the cutest thing he sprayed my pillow with his cologne i was like LOL that’s adorable).

(but one thing that also really gets me is when people i like give other people i know in my snaps attention LMAO that makes me so upset, also note: everytime i mention i get upset over something, i’m probably crying like a bitch and lmfao i know i’ve cried almost everyday for the past three or so weeks [excluding my trip last week to new york which was fantastic!!! i got to see one of my best buddies from sixth grade for the first time in real life!!!] because of my second ex it’s so lame i’ll be sitting there doing my makeup and then i’ll start sobbing like what is wrong with me, i just end up hating myself so much during those moments - gotta be more gently with myself)

but idk if all this is just me wanting that person specifically to give me attention, or if it’s because i ultimately feel absolutely disgusted with myself perpetually, physical appearance-wise, personality-wise, action-wise, &c &c. like, would it matter who was giving me the attention? is the only stipulation there that i be attracted to them?

though, to be honest, i sort of seek attention from people i’m not really attracted to too. i’ll consider them friends and i’ll have sex with them (i guess in exchange for that attention, or for drugs/alcohol, or both - definitely both, because i hooked up with this one guy who gave me an attention that didn’t fulfill any of my emotional drives and i told him never to talk to me again, though i think if he got me something of perceived equal or higher value to the emotional turmoil i could have experienced at his hands, i would’ve contacted him again) but they’re not romantic interests like i do the guys that i quote-unquote like.

and it ultimately ties into the fact that i don’t know whether or not i ever truly liked my second ex. he tells me he treated me horribly, but then the main thing i think of is the fact that he voluntarily cuddled me after sex in the absolute cutest koala-y way, and i just can’t bring myself to think that he had treated me bad in any way. (especially given the fact that he cuddled my like so when my open relationship with my first ex was going down the fucking drains and into a radioactive wasteland)

okay, okay, so i had to reach and that’s proof enough that i’m misguided, but now i do remember the first time me having sex with other people really came up when we were both hanging out with a friend of mine that i had participated in an orgy with (a little part of me sort of weirdly endearingly, partially spitefully, thinks “you are the cause of my breakup”) and sometime after that friend left (that day, the following day? idk), my second ex got ridiculously day drunk and we cried a lot a lot a lot about how he felt about my sex life. the implication that he thought i was a whore, something he didn’t disagree with. (and then when he drunk texted me oh. my. god. whyyy am i still upset over this guy?)

and then maybe you can consider it treating me badly when he breaks up with me because of my sex life (note: i should not be calling myself a whore, as much as i’d like to reclaim that term there is a marked difference between reclaiming it and using it to degrade myself - if i feel sad when i call myself a whore, then i should not call myself a whore) though it’s difficult to think that, especially after conversations with my dad about how people will perceive me when i do have sex with a number of people. (i haven’t even had that much sex, compared to some, and it makes me so frustrated) ‘cause it’s true! people do perceive you differently when you’ve had tons of sex! doesn’t mean that they should perceive you differently, cause in the ideal world that double standard wouldn’t exist, but it totally does.

i enjoy sex on a number of different levels:

as a means of validating myself, confirming tangibly that i am attractive, people like me (though one night stands aren’t the best way to confirm people like you, and i feel like i don’t have many friends here though really that’s more self-imposed than anything else)

to have a good time, cause sex is just fun lmfao especially when you’re doing it with someone who’s a good kisser/eats pussy LMAO it’s nice to get away and focus on another person and perform something physical

to get at my first and second exes, prove not only to myself that i’m pretty and can move on but also to them

(1) is definitely why i won’t stop having sex altogether, i kind of need it lmfao, and (2) is definitely why i will not stop having sex kind of riskily/gratuitously, no matter what people think of me. i like sex lmfao i’m a nympho and i feel like there’s nothing wrong with getting validation! (i just gotta be safer with it) TO SUM: do i actually like this person or am i just attracted/infatuated with this person? is it a matter of rebounding? i think: i actually like this person tbh or i’m really attracted to them and i could very easily come to genuinely like this person as we get to know each other.

did i like my second ex or did i like the feeling of love he gave to me? i think: both. i don’t think i would be nearly as upset about this if i didn’t genuinely like him - seeming to me, he gave me every reason to like him. and i think that’s my final response to that.

i hate/want to hate people who treat me like dirt/make me feel bad about myself an overwhelming amount of times and i will stop liking said people nigh immediately once i realise what’s going on to protect myself. this was the case with my first ex, and has been the case with anyone i’ve met since my second ex, but with my second ex i never came to the conclusion that he gave me a reason to dislike him - recovery from him is searching for a reason not to like him, or finding someone new to like just as much

my second ex broke up with me straight up because of the sex double standard, but despite this i’m going to continue to have sex. gotta keep my “snapchat first, meet after” rule checked though, no need to rush into things even if i’m sad and in extra need of validation/fun times.

so this one guy i really like right now came out of the hospital yesterday and said he wanted to meet up today!! i’m so excited LMAO!! the past couple of days since we met when i’ve slept during the day, it was because i wanted time to go faster between his snapchats lmfao! i felt really sad when he wasn’t messaging me a whole ton and definitely thought he didn’t like me at all (before i knew he was in the hospital or visiting family, though no lie there will be an irrational bit of me that’s like “what if he’s lying???” so though i didn’t really want to, to protect myself and to keep myself from getting too attached, i’ve still been talking with people on okc - we’re not dating or anything, but it doesn’t feel great to like someone and have sex with other people)

so i’m basically having one of the happier days i’ve had pre/post-new york trip! especially now that my head has adjusted to my medicine being back in my system. LOL standards are soOO high when you can say that you didn’t cry within the first hour of being awake (or at all so far!!! WOO) and that’s a sign of good wellbeing!

i’m preparing myself for plans to meet up not to come through and i’m not entirely sure how i’ll react but i’m 66.7% certain i won’t do anything besides drink some! or maybe meet up with this other guy i was talking to? it won’t be desperate, is what i’m saying, lmfaooo! i feel much more in control of my emotions than i have been in a looong while!

——————–Nora’s eldest daughter-Theodosia-felt threatened when she(Fiona) was born so at the first opportunity she kidnapped her and locked her away in a tower. That was when Fiona was really young, she was lead to believe-by Theo-that the castle was under attack and that they had to hide away. And now she believes that the kingdom was destroyed, Nora was killed, and that there’s a bloodthirsty king and his bandits out for their royal blood.

She loves fairytales and would beg for Theo to bring her some from her trips out of the tower. Now she has her own personal library.

One day-when she grew old enough and her tail got fckin long as all hell-she managed to climb down the tower. She explored a little-and then climbed back up before Theo arrived. And Theo knew right away what she had done since she was covered in grass-and y'know, giant snake trails had p much flattened the grass all around the tower so.

And that’s where that pointy tail cuff comes into play. It’s digging into her scales and as she’s /still growing/ her tail’s starting to grow around the spikes. If she really, really wanted to she could try and pull it off-if she wanted to potentially lose a good portion of her tail.

She’s in a lotta pain and uses all kinds of numbing herbs and what not to /try/ and help.

Now she knows that her sister’s… off. She just can’t say anything or you know, she’ll probably lose her only source of food. Or end up dead.

The song “I know it’s today” from the Shrek Musical really suits her tbh.

(Lil sad snippet because I just thought of this and if I gotta feel bad so do you guys)

Fiona was almost saved once-well, that’s what /she/ thinks anyhow. So Theo hires people to keep the tower in order and deliver food to Fiona, and to also make sure no one tries anything like ‘saving’ Fiona. There’s at most two guards there at any given time. Theo is away a /lot/. She’s trying to build her own kingdom and that takes time and connections.

There are multiple levels to the tower and Fiona has access to the top three. The two above the third “bottom” level is like-imagine a shelf? Kinda open so she doesn’t have to worry about doors in her space, not a Lotta corners-i’m off topic.

Anyways-so one of the new men that was hired-this is important, so prior to being hired he and his w i f e were trying to have a child. Only she’s unable. So he goes to the village-idk what they’re called. The people that the rest of the village go to for advice and spells??? But they’re-a witchdoctor maybe??? Whatever-so he goes, and she says, “There is one sure way for you to ever sire a child, you must lay with a serpent.” “… Do you mean slay-” “No you ninny! Lay! You must lay with a serpent! And when she gives her heart to you will you be blessed with the gift of life.”

Where’s he supposed to find a serpent to nail?? He doesn’t know, so he goes to a tavern to drown his sorrows. That’s where he’s recruited by Theo.

Now the village and the tower is like, maybe a two week trip by carriage.

He gets there, Theo leaves. He gets curious and investigates the upper floors. Then he sees Fiona: a serpent lady.

What a lucky break

So he lays on the charm. And mind you Fiona is a shy gal, and she’s never interacted with anyone other than her sister(and she reads so many romance novels and fairytales) so after say, a month she tells him that she loves him, they bone-and then he’s gone.

He went back to the village and immediately boned his wife. He waited-and after like, a lotta love making and several months he finds the witch doctor and says “You lied to me.” “Me?! A liar?!” “I laid with a serpent and my wife remains barren.” “And what of the serpent? Hm-maybe you /were/ supposed to slay the serpent. This old mind of mine…”

So he goes b a c k to the tower in the night, says Theo told him to take over, and sneaks into Fiona’s room. And he’s got his dagger out, ready to kill himself a serpent, when she moves in her bed and it’s revealed that she has an egg with her.

He doesn’t kill her, instead when she wakes up-and she’s pissed ofc-he tells her that Theo wanted him elsewhere. And she’s gullible, and you know-first love and all that, she’s ready to have herself a little family with this guy.

And then the baby hatches a month later. It looks completely human-only it has gold eyes. He takes it back to the village while she’s asleep.

Fiona is distraught. Theodosia comes back, Fiona tells her what happened. “So you’ve learned your lesson? I’ve told you dear sister, you can’t trust anyone outside these walls. But you can trust me.”

Now some Nora stuff since I bet you’re all curious about what momma’s doing during this

Like, okay she was kidnapped during a castle raid and she was lit a damn baby and the dragon that took her got shot out of the sky and so-now she’s on the ground next to this dead guy. And Kinder heard the noise and went to investigate like a curious bitch. Like “oh there’s a dragon bab” “what do” and just took her in and raised her as his own, but when she’s around 11 he catches wind of a kingdom filled with dragons matching her desc and he’s just “heeeeeeyyyy…” and he goes and checks it out, then he comes back and brings Nora with him because “these are your people and your culture”.

But the entire kingdom and their mothers know that the Queen had a missing emerald and diamond baby that would be around Nora’s age and next thing Kinder knows he’s being dragged off to see the Queen and he’s confused??? And the Queen explains and like-he didn’t exactly have a choice and h a d to give Nora over n she’s confused and scared like? Who’s this woman? Fuck her.

And she doesn’t see Kinder until she’s an adult and is allowed to leave-and h e e e e e re’s where it gets dramatic.

To preface: the dragons in the kingdom are all covered in gems. The more rare and precious they are the higher on the power scale they are. The gems can be removed for whatever reason. But certain gems are tied to certain things, such as abilities. There was a rumor that if a dragon wore the gems of a deceased dragon they will become crazed and start to crave m o r e gems. Like drug addicts n shizz.

And the Queen had just lost a son, and she fastened a few of his gems into a necklace to wear.

And she got b a t s h i t crazy

Obsessed with power.

Crazy paranoid.

And jealous of anyone and everyone.

So she started putting new laws in place. Crazy laws. And soon more than a third of the kingdom was locked away. Oh but they started running out of room. So she’d have their gems taken, and if you have no gems you’re practically a powerless, obedient husk. She’d store alllll the gems away. Nora knew this, but she didn’t want to be next as the Queen had already started turning on her other siblings

And Nora was starting to gain popularity with the people. She had a mate at the time and they were going to be wed. So everyone was talking about a grand wedding and Nora becoming the new queen.

Queen(her names Vivienne btw i just don’t wanna type it alot lol)didn’t like this and seduced Nora’s mate, then killed him. Nora was livid-of course-and claimed that come morning everyone would know.

So Queen snuck into Nora’s room as she slept and tore the gems from her back. And ye Nora woke tf up and punched the woman and had to McFuckin flee. But with her back all fcked just summoning her wings and shifting was painful. So by the time she was out of the kingdom she was exhausted.

Idk wtf happens during this, besides boring training n shizz, boom, she comes back and kills her mother, reclaims her gems, and becomes Queen. But this would be years after she fled. And her gems became tainted, so she began to get a lil batshit as well.

Only she k n e w. And she was able to fight it, but it got so tiring and she was always erratic with her emotions that she just tore the tainted gems from her and waited.

Then there was a human guy and she had Theodosia, and she loved Theo so much and spoiled her. But Theo was a b i t c h. An evil lil cunt. So when Nora had her next daughter, Fiona, Theo-now 16 by human standards and worried for her position for the throne-took her and locked her away in an old tower surrounded by a magic barrier to keep her in.

And Nora didn’t know, she thought Fiona was dead and gone. But when she found out-a whopping two hundred years later, when Fiona would be a young adult-she locked Theo away and demanded to be told where Fiona was.

Theo escaped. Nora never found out where Fiona was. She sent out countless parties to search for her.

So in she lost a father, several siblings, a mate, a mother, and two daughters.

Now onto the son Fiona had with that guard. He’s not all that ordinary. He talks to snakes and has an knack for getting himself in and out of trouble. He parents love him very much-and his mother is concerned about where her husband says he found him “I found him floating down the river” he says. She doesn’t buy it, but she loves the child like he was her own. And for all little Kandro(to be changed, maybe) knows he /is/ her son.

He likes fairytales just as much as her mother, he particularly likes the one about the maiden with the long gold hair locked away in a tower. Now, this village isn’t all human. No, there are minotaur and satyrs and all in between. He feels drawn to them-but his father doesn’t want him anywhere near “the likes of them”.

He does it anyways. He’s a lovable lad, everyone’s friend. Always knows just what to say.

And then Nora’s search party makes it to the village. They have posters made from a description a seer gave them(“she looks like this and she’s in a tower” “what tower” “a tower in a forest” “which forest” “I can’t tell you that, I’m a seer, not a tour guide.”)-and his father is quick to turn pale. But then he hears of the reward for her safe return. And suddenly he’s a greedy Lil shit, goes right up to them and says “I know where she is”

Kandro sneaks into the carriage because “I want to see the princess”. Ah, there’s that adventurer in him. Course he’s found about half way there, but they can’t just turn him back on his own so they let him stay. His father’s upset about it, but hey it’s not like he remembers Fiona anyhow-only in a way he /does/. Kandro knows Fiona’s scent, he just k n o w s. Like-she’s imprinted in his mind.

When they get to the tower there are guards-and they’re dispatched p fckin quickly. And Kandro was told to stay at the carriage but he’s thirteen, he don’t listen. So he runs up the stairs and bursts into Fiona’s room and blurts out. “I’m here to rescue the princess!”

And she’s startled-but then she sees his eyes and she knows. He knows. And she pulls him up in a hug and it’s sappy.

The guards have to remove the chain-they try the cuff but it’s stuck too bad and they don’t have the supplies for it. So she has to travel like that. And she does not let go of Kandro’s hand, they sleep together during the night and when they reach the village and his mother comes Fiona tells her just what her husband did.

So the lady’s livid, there’s a lot of yelling. The husband’s ashamed. But Fiona-after hearing his side-is like “I understand how you felt, you were desperate, but that doesn’t give you the right to use me or lie to your own wife.”

Woman ends up at a loss-but she asks “where are you taking my son?” “I’m taking him home… do you want to come?” “I… yes, please.” “You can tell me all about him and his adventures on the way.”

So they ditch the husband there-after putting him in the stocks to be publicly shamed n what not.

The wife-I’m calling her Matilda-ends up being a very close friend and her and Fiona raise Kandro together.

“What kind of name is ‘Kandro’?” “Oh-Erwin picked it out. Always hated it. Never really fit… what would you have named him?” “Oh, please don’t laugh. I would have named him Charming.” *cue giggling* “I think that’s a much better fit! He’s always had a way with people!”

Kandro becomes ‘Charming’ and proudly says “I have /two/ mothers! Hah!”

today’s zeldablogging which is full of spoilers:

the sight of my new sword sends a thrill into my heart tbh

if i ever replay this game, which tbh idk if i will, it's so Big, SS was only a third or a quarter of this size and i've only beaten it twice, im going to get it as soon as possible next time

anyway im back at the tower i suppose i'll crawl down and check out the enemies properly

i dont like gliding to towers i've discovered bc it feels like i've been plopped down into the middle of nowhere with no context

vs if i walk to them i know "where" i came from/am, if that makes any sense

(it doesn't)

i can see that flying thing closer than ever from here and it's DEFINITELY a divine beast no doubts left

yk tho. i dont WANNA check out the enemies. i wanna find that weird blanked out place at the top of my map!

haha i can feel it already

i'm so anxious to get to the end of the game and uncover the plot im gonna be like "FUCK EXPLORING" for the rest of it and only go to the places i need, now that i've got this map

i can always do more thorough exploration after, i've been spoiled that there's postgame content, but even if there's not like any other zelda game it'd put me right back before the final battle

god im having to go ALL THE WAY AROUND the lost woods i can't even glide over the nearby river to make the path shorter i bet there's an easier way to do this from the other side but i havent been there yet

aww, i don't see beedle here...i was sure he'd be at everyone, i don't think i've encountered one where he isn't yet...

i'll be honest, i've grown kind of bored of combat

and know i'm biased but i genuinely i don't think it's me, i think it's the game's difficulty/"difficulty"

i used to see monster camps and think STRATEGY, is there a beehive, barrels to blow up, a place i can glide down from, this is so fun!

which gradually morphed into "okay this is gonna be a bit of a long haul but there'll be Treasure and sniping from afar is still fun"

idk if the black bokoblins/moblins/etc show up after you've done more things or bc of the area you're in but i'm noticing more enemies with more health, higher defense, and higher attack, and the barrels/metal boxes/beehives/etc becoming rarer, and when they do appear, being almost pointless to use because you're more likely to blow yourself up than do any real damage to the mobs

and like i love this game. it absolutely deserves every bit of its raid reviews, and this feeling COULD just be because i've been marathoning it for 12 straight days and i'm anxious to see the end and get back to my life

but to me, attacking a flat area full of black moblins and bokoblins isn't fun even with the stealth/snipe element bc you can't take them out in 1-3 shots, you have to stop and slash at them, and that alerts EVERYONE else, and it's just pointless

(lol i found some flat ruins by the stable which triggered this rant)

like, even the yiga clan hideout - my instinct was to snipe the enemies as i went, which would have made it a bit more fun imo, even though the stealth bit wasn't bad and i enjoyed that section quite a lot

i just don't like the—idk a better term for it unfortunately—"fake difficulty" thing where you just have to slog your way thru 1000s of random battles, i don't like it in rpgs either

kind of like almost wherever i explored at first i would run into minibosses rarely and then almost constantly

which, yeah, most of them aren't as hard now, But Still, it's the point of the thing

maybe i'm a bit defensive about "real gamer" bullshit and "women can't game" stereotypes while being super bad at games my whole life while my brother was fantastic at them

but like i just don't find that fun?? sure a good challenge once in awhile like eventide isle would be fine (even tho that was hellish and i'll never do it again) but that should be. every once in awhile, not. EVERYWHERE

anyway

frankly @ this point i'm REALY tempted to speed thru it before my surgery

bc i would hate to be laid up in bed and still have to worry about mobile browsing bc botw spoilers and tumblr's interface being awful

anyway i can;'t travel further in this direction without getting over near rito/hyrule field territory

and not only are those towers further away than i'd like but i wanted to do gerudo highlands first so back to the desert i go i guess rip

yeah, this game is definitely still as full of fun secrets and as deslightful as when i first began playing it

and it came at a good time bc i just lost angela and it helped me feel Real Joy again

most displeasure i find with it now is because "AAAH ZELDA AT SOME POINT I NEED TO GET BACK TO MY FUCKING LIFE"

i'm so worried about spoilers and being behind now that some of the fun is draining away

i think after a bit of time has passed i'll either go back and finish exploring properly or straight up start a new file

and do it Thoroughly

when i can relax and go at my own pace instead of feeling like i'm racing the internet, my dashboard, my friends, my brother, etc

this region is soooo cold and i am so certain i'll get better cold gear in the rito area that im just activating the shrines and not even going inside to use my little food as efficiently as possible

im lit not even going inside

oh it's dropped to level 2 cold...thank god
